Non-essential travel of Pangasinenses to the National Capital Region (NCR), provinces of Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal, as well as the entry of persons from these areas to Pangasinan, are prohibited.

In Executive Order (EO) No. 0027-A-2021 issued on Monday, Governor Amado Espino III said this is in line with the directive of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID).

“Persons from above said places shall be denied entry into Pangasinan for as long as the regulations under IATF-EID Resolution No. 104, series of 2021,” he said.

Espino added the persons from Pangasinan shall not be allowed to travel these places during the effectivity of the regulations under IATF-EID Resolution No. 104.

However, essential travels including but not limited to those by frontline services, government personnel, emergency, humanitarian causes, and movement of cargo, shall remain unhampered as stated in the EO.

“The travel must present competent proof of identity, a document stating workplace address, or any proof of essential travel in border checkpoints for the purpose of assessment,” it added.

Meanwhile, Espino reminded Pangasinenses in his Lenten season message on Monday that this season is about sacrificing.

“Muli po akong nanawagan sa inyong lahat na unahin ang kaligtasan ng inyong sarili at ng inyong pamilya sa paggunita nitong Semana Santa. Isabuhay po natin ito sa pamamagitan ng ibayong pag-iingat, pagtitiis, at pagsasakripisyo para sa kaligtasan ng ating sarili, ng ating pamilya, at ng ating komunidad (I am once again appealing to all of you to put first your own safety and your family in commemorating the Holy Week. Let us live out the season by being cautious, enduring, and sacrificing for our safety, our family, and the community),” he said. (PNA)
