The Philippine National Police (PNP) has directed all regional commands and police units to finalize security measures for the observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day in November.

Malacañang has declared Nov. 1 and 2 as special non-working days.

PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said police assistance desks, foot patrols, mobile teams and emergency response units will be deployed in and around cemeteries.

“We will maintain a strong and visible police presence in key areas so families can focus on honoring their loved ones with confidence and peace of mind,” Nartatez said in a statement Monday.

He said all concerned units are preparing to maintain peace and order and respond promptly to emergencies throughout the Undas period.

Police will also assist visitors who need help, including those separated from family members or victimized by crime, particularly in crowded areas. (PNA)
