The Police Regional Office-Bicol (PRO-5), through its Regional Medical and Dental Unit, on Friday provided medical, dental, and optical care, including vaccines to learners of the Children Learning Center (CLC) in Albay province as part of the National Children’s Month celebration.

PRO-5 Regional Director Brig. Gen. Andre Dizon said they want to help ensure the wellness of the country’s future generation.

“We want to make sure that they are safe from different preventable diseases as they grow. We want to provide necessary services that we can offer, especially since these learners are inside the camp,” he said in his message during the opening.

Arnie Mae Balana, PRO-5-CLC teacher, said 120 learners from the PRO-5 learning center gained access to various health services for free.

“As part of our yearly activity for Children’s Month, we really include this kind of service for our children. We thanked the parents and guardians for allowing their children to avail of the various services offered,” she said in an interview.

Balana also said they a series of other activities lined up for the children, like storytelling, art activities, and interactive lessons at a wildlife park, taking into account the importance of animals and their habitat and behavior.

In a separate interview, parent Christine Villanueva said it was very timely and important to avail of health services.

“Knowing that my son was vaccinated with boosters gives me peace of mind as a parent. It helps reduce the worry about potential diseases that may affect his health,” she said. (PNA)
