The Philippine Statistics Authority in the Cordillera Administrative Region (PSA-CAR) is bent on reaching out to the region’s residents who have not yet registered under the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) after achieving an 83 percent accomplishment.

Villafe Alibuyog, PSA-CAR regional director, on Wednesday said they will continue to initiate activities that will step up the registration of residents.

“We will still pursue with the registration in barangays, far flung villages and join different activities where there is a gathering of people so that we can continue to serve those who have yet to be registered in the national ID system,” Alibuyog said.

She said they have registered 1,494,886 individuals from May 2021 to March 2025 out of the 1,797,660 residents based on the 2020 census of population and housing.

“Our teams have been working diligently to include every Filipino in the national ID system. Consistent efforts have been made in the provinces to carry out registration in schools mobile registration, partner with other agencies for co-location and provide home service registrations for elderly individuals. Bedridden patients and persons with disabilities,” she said.

In March alone, there were 13,088 new registrants aside from the 4,091 who were registered using forms and later entered in the system.

Alibuyog said registration of all residents will allow the government to have an accurate data of its population, which is an important part of the decision-making process in coming up with programs, projects and activities.

She urged those who have yet to register to visit any PSA field office where registration is regularly done. (PNA)
