Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go celebrated Christmas day at the Balay Pahulayan, a resting facility for the watchers of the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC).

Go distributed cash assistance, food packs, and mattresses to the said beneficiaries.

He also urged the watchers to go to the Malasakit Center to avail of the medical needs for their patients.

“Malasakit Center is not solely for Dabawenyos, As long as you are a Filipino, you are most welcome to avail of its services,” he added.

He reminded them that they have all the right to avail the services of the government since all projects were made because of the people’s money.

“Please come to the Malasakit Center if you have your patient, it is a one-stop shop that will cater all your medical needs. I already instructed them to provide express lanes for the senior citizen, pregnant women and persons with disability,” he added.

Then Davao City mayor and now President Rodrigo Duterte has provided Balay Pahulayan, a temporary shelter to waiting patients and watchers.

Before its establishment, Go said the watchers are occupying the walkway of the hospital and even on the ladders.

To date, hundreds of watchers are using the facility on a daily basis as it caters not only the Dabawenyos but also from other municipalities.

“I choose to celebrate here to somehow ease their problem, especially that it is Christmas time,” Go said. (PNA)
