Mayor Cristy Angeles here created on Thursday a technical working group that will focus on the city government’s vaccination program against coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

Angeles said while awaiting guidelines on the procurement of Covid-19 vaccines and other important policies from the Department of Health, Commission on Audit and Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF), the city government, through the technical working group, will draft plans and measures for the mass vaccination of the city residents against Covid-19.

She said the city government will also launch an electronic immunization registry for those who want to avail the free Covid-19 vaccines.

“Sa pamamagitan ng QR code system at web-based program, makakapagrehistro ang mga nais mabakunahan nang boluntaryo at walang pag-aalinlangan (Through the QR code system and web-based program, those who want to be vaccinated voluntarily and without hesitation can register),” she said in an official social media account.

Likewise, the mayor said those who are authorized to administer the Covid-19 vaccines are currently undergoing training and discussing plans such as vaccine transportation and storage, distribution, deployment, assessment, and monitoring.

In the meantime, she reminded the residents to observe and follow the minimum health and safety protocols to prevent the spread of the disease.

As of Thursday, the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the city is 589, with 479 recoveries, 89 active cases, and 21 deaths. (PNA)
