From Halloween parties and costume ideas into real-life character imitation, the phenomenon 2021 Korean Netflix hit series, Squid Game, has now a Filipino game adaptation.

Donnalyn Bartolome, a singer-songwriter and vlogger, presented her latest video content titled ‘The Filipino Squid Game’ on her YouTube last Tuesday, November 2.

Games were played with a twist in the Filipino version, such as a sack race applied in ‘Red Light, Green Light’ instead of just running towards the finish line.

The Filipino Squid Game cast precisely replicated the Korean stars in the face-off pictures posted by Bartolome on her Instagram.

“Squid Game player look-alikes united to give you: The Filipino Squid Game,” she captioned.

The main characters were played by Bartolome (Player 212) and well-known social media influencers and artists including Paul Salas (Player 218), MNL48 Coleen (Player 240), Marvin Fojas (Player 199), Baron Geisler (Player 456), Richard Juan (Player 067), Ghostwrecker (Player 101), Rastaman (Player 001) and Boobsie (Squid Game doll).

It has also driven and gotten the attention of many netizens as the #TheFilipinoSquidGame trends on PH Twitter.

“Eto ang pinakamalupit na Squid Game sa Pinas! Check niyo po sa channel ni @DJBDonna #TheFilipinoSquidGame,” said Twitter user Mr. Guy.

Meanwhile @livin’chin wit-tweeted, “Yung sa cr talaga inaabangan ko dito bat ba,” which is considered as intense scene between player 212 and player 101 in the restroom.

“The Big 3 Filipino Version,” Myst Rios captioned.

As of writing, the Filipino Squid Game is now in the first spot of Philippine YouTube with a total number of 2,563,644 million views in 24-hours.
