Netflix renews the hit series ‘You’ for a 3rd season.
The news of renewal was dropped on January 14 via Instagram with a short clip captioned, “See you soon, neighbor. YOU S3 is coming.”
Like the previous seasons, Season 3 will be comprised of 10 episodes, and is expected to be released in 2021. Leads Penn Badgley and Victoria Pedretti confirmed to return to their roles for the new season. Additional casting will be announced soon.
Co-created and executive produced by Sera Gamble and Greg Berlanti, ‘You’ is based on the series of books by Caroline Kepnes.
‘You’ centers on the charismatic but sinister Joe Goldberg. On its 2nd season, Joe (Badgley) moves from New York to Los Angeles in an attempt for a fresh start and escape from his stalker past. He soon meets avid chef Love Quinn (Pedretti), making him fall back to his old ways of obsessions and violence. However, Joe is determined to win her over while avoiding remnants of his past and dodging past adversaries.
Originally aired on Lifetime, ‘You’ moved to Netflix for Season 2. And Season 3 will be the 2nd time that a season from the series will exclusively debut in the streaming platform.
The American thriller received mostly positive reviews from critics and was one of the hottest topics on social media for both of its seasons. The 2nd season, in fact, ranked #5 as Netflix’s top 10 most popular series in 2019 and trended on Twitter worldwide for hours on its December 26 release date.
‘You’ is currently available for streaming on Netflix.
