Justin Bieber’s seventh studio album, Swag, released on July 10, features 21 tracks and is being recognized not only for its musical evolution but also for its deeply personal lyrics — behind his experiences as a husband and father. The album also reflects the singer’s mental health challenges and recent marital struggles with his wife, Hailey Bieber.

Musically, Swag mixes R&B, trap, and acoustic sounds, but what really stands out are the lyrics. Songs like “Walking Away” and “Daisies” talk about relationship struggles, pressure, and trying to stay connected to the people you love. Rolling Stone Australia even called the album “raw” and “introspective,” saying it shows how much Justin has grown. Critics have described Swag as one of Bieber’s most vulnerable records to date.

“It’s raw, introspective, and reflective of what he’s been going through personally,” wrote Rolling Stone Australia in a July 2025 review.

According to Us Weekly, the process of creating the album swag caused tension between Justin and Hailey. Multiple reliable reports said that the emotional intensity behind the album had real-life consequences. A source close to the couple shared that Justin became so focused on the music that it put noticeable strain on their marriage.

“The intense focus and emotional toll of creating new music had put a strain on their marriage,” the source said. “Justin gets completely consumed and shuts everything else out when he’s in the studio.”

Bieber, 31, reportedly experienced anxiety and stress during the album’s production, which impacted his ability to be emotionally available at home. Meanwhile, Hailey Bieber, 28, is also focusing on raising their son, Jack Blues, who turned one this week.

Following the album’s release, the album was a hit, with 16 songs landing on the Billboard Hot 100, and Justin’s been more relaxed and happy since it came out. Justin’s mental state reportedly improved.

“He felt a lot of pressure hanging over him and has been in a better mental headspace these last few weeks,” he is very happy there have been so much positive feedback on the album and that fans like it.” the insider added.

In May, Hailey publicly denied rumors that she and Justin were headed toward divorce. In an interview with Vogue Italia, she acknowledged that they’re still committed to each other, even if things haven’t been perfect.

Since then, the couple has spent time away from the public eye, and took a vacation in Idaho with their son. Hailey has been super patient during the whole period and continued to support her husband. The trip reportedly helped them reconnect after the stressful period tied to the album’s release.

Although a source emphasized that “there’s still work to be done” in the marriage, they confirmed that Justin and Hailey are “in a much better place” now.

Swag is Bieber’s first full-length release since 2021’s Justice, and it shows how far he’s come — not just as an artist who created music, but as a person who grew. It’s honest, emotional, and a reminder that even celebrities or pop stars go through tough times— and sometimes music becomes part of the healing.
